The Ashlee Longshore Gallery was the most interesting gallery I have ever attended. Situated on the popular and heavy foot traffic street, Magazine ST. in New Orleans, Louisiana. This Alabama native, is gallery owner and avid painter. Her work focuses on pop art, American consumerism, and is insatiably representative of the millennial culture and current media.
Longshore’s work has been compared to that of Andy Warhol, and other pop art authorities. Her work is devoured by avid art connoisseurs and admirers alike. This is evidenced by her collaborations with Diane Von Furstenberg and features in Vogue. The gallery breeds a unique and unpretentious atmosphere for visitors to experience her work and even interact with the pieces. Longshore’s work has its premise in causing contention, debate, and ruffling feathers, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
