Miami—Wynwood & Brickell style

On my most recent trip to Miami, I did the antithesis of my usual SOBE vacations. Instead of the typical Onehotel, or SLS South Beach, I opted for DT Miami and visited Brickell, and Wynwood. Some of the most newly gentrified areas. A completely different experience. I would recommend checking out Wynwood. Upon first glance, it is not in the friendliness of neighborhoods and in fact is surrounded mainly by subsidized and government housing. This area is family friendly, and offers local artists in a quaint and open outdoor setting. The immediate few blocks that encompass the art installation have transformed from vapid and archaic store fronts to hip clothing stores and eateries. The Tiki bar directly across the street was up beat and offered a pretty good selection of tropical drinks. The maximum time needed in Wynwood is no more than 3.5 hours. Plenty of time to look at the art, and grab a refreshment.

Juxtaposed to Brickell City Center, not far from Wynwood, which offers over 3 stories of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Here I would recommend the bar Sugar. I stumbled upon this by accident and found I enjoyed the outdoor space, high on the 40th floor, the excellent cocktails, and a lively but elegant crowd. If you are opting for something different check out DT Miami on your next trip.
