When one thinks of Italy, immediately for most people, popular and robust cities such as; Rome or Florence come to mind. While they are both unique and beautiful destinations the area that in encompasses Cinque a Terre (or five towns) is not to be discounted. Almost rural in comparison to the bustling town of Rome, the hillsides of Cinque a Terre are quaint, beautiful, and house locals and tourist alike. Tourists visiting this region were predominately from other parts of Europe (ie. Norway, Netherlands ect.), with far less American tourists. One should visit this region for 2-3 days maximum and plan to spend their time here relaxing and enjoying the sea.
